When Railboard finds you a saving using Split Tickets, Railboard takes a commission of up to 15% from that saving. In the summary on the Payment screen, this is listed as the ‘Share of saving fee’.
Example

In the above screenshot, the full price for the ticket would have been £28.00. Railboard was able to find a saving of £10.00 using Split Tickets. Of that saving, the customer’s share was £8.50 and Railboard’s share was £1.50 (15% of the total saving).
Note that while a ‘Booking fee’ is also listed, it will always be zero because Railboard does not charge a booking fee. The ‘Share of saving fee’ is the only fee Railboard charges when buying a ticket, and it will only apply if we have found you a saving using Split Tickets.
The money made from the ‘Share of saving fee’ makes it possible to make Railboard. It goes towards app development, design, customer services, server costs, card processing fees and a variety of other things involved in running and developing the app.
